Word of mouth (WOM) marketing is not a new concept. In fact, brands know that WOM is key in driving product trials and ultimately leading to purchases. With a video camera being held in nearly every consumer’s hand, it is easy to understand how UGC video is just a new form of WOM marketing. If we think about it, just a few years ago, communicating with your friends about the latest beauty/cosmetic trends meant you met your circle face-to-face, but now you just take a video with your phone and post your review to YouTube.
