Important Note

Before you begin, be sure your Shopify theme is “Online Store 2.0”

You can see if a Shopify theme supports Online Store 2.0 by:

Visit the Theme Store here.

Search for the theme you are going to work with. 

Once you have opened the theme’s page, scroll down to the Features section. There you should see ‘ONLINE STORE 2.0’

How to Install the Vyrill App in Shopify

Step 1: Search for Vyrill In-Video Search in the Shopify App Store.

Step 2: On the app listing page, you will see our demo store and a demonstration of the app placed in a store. To continue with the installation click ‘Add App.’

Step 3: A new screen will appear explaining what the App will be able to do in your store. Click ‘Install App’ to start the process.

Step 4: To use the Vyrill In-Video Search app, start your 30 day free trial here. . Then you can continue with your paid subscription - Vyrill Shopify Plan. Select the plan and click ‘Approve’ to finish your app installation.

To verify the app has been installed, log in to your store’s Admin site on Shopify. On the left navigation, column click on ‘Apps’. A pop-up will open with the list of all your installed apps. You should see the Vyrill In-Video Search app there.*If you haven’t installed the app or need some help, please visit the App Installation instructions here.

Step 5: Congratulations, you have installed Vyrill’s Vyrill In-Video Search. Go ahead and click on ‘Get Started’.

Step 6: Together, we’ll set up your Vyrill account. Fill out the form you see and select a time for your onboarding session. The account will be set up during the meeting. Meeting details will be sent within 24 business hours!

How to Set Up Your Brand Dashboard on Vyrill.com

You have installed your Vyrill In-Video Search app, selected a plan and created a Vyrill account. To verify the app has been installed, log in to your store’s Admin site on Shopify. On the left navigation, column click on ‘Apps’. A pop-up will open with the list of all your installed apps. You should see the Vyrill In-Video Search app there.

If you haven’t installed the app or need some help, please visit the App Installation instructions here.

Once the app is installed, create your Vyrill Dashboard account.  Start by registering for a ‘Brand Manager’ account here: https://login.vyrill.com/#/register 

STEP ONE: 

Add  Product. 

When you log in, the first page you will see is the Home Page. On the Home Page click on ‘Add your Products or Hashtags’ 

A popup will appear where you will Add your products or hashtags. Follow these steps to add it properly: 

1.

Select if you want to add a product or hashtag

2.

Write the name of the product or hashtag. This is required.

3.

If your product is known by another name, please add it to ‘Alternative Keywords’.

4.

Select a Category. This is required.
Important: Add your product’s UPC code to the UPC code field. To display the videos on your Shopify store, we match the product that you have added to your Vyrill Dashboard with the products you have on your Shopify store inventory via UPC code. Each product needs to have the same UPC code saved on the Vyrill Dashboard and the Shopify inventory.  If you don’t have a UPC code, leave it blank.  We will discuss another method with you.
Tip: Annotate the UPC code with the product to keep track and avoid mixing UPC codes with products.

5.

Optionally, you can add a Product Image to make your product list more visual

6.

Click ‘Add Product or Hashtag’ to save the search

7.

Repeat this process for every product you have in your store and want to display videos.

STEP TWO: 

Now that you have set up the dashboard,  you can upload videos to make them searchable and publish them to your Shopify store.  You can upload videos via youtube or dropbox to the Vyrill dashboard.  You need to create a creator account to do so.

Upload video from YouTube:

Via YouTube: If you have a YouTube channel with public videos, you can add them to your Vyrill Dashboard. It’s important that the videos are published on YouTube as ‘Public view’, not in private mode.

Create an account as a Content Creator with Vyrill here

Expect to receive an account confirmation email in your inbox

3.

Once your account is confirmed, you will log in to the Video Creator dashboard. The first screen is the Home page. Now you have to connect your YouTube account. Go to the right top corner where your account icon is: 

From the dropdown menu clicks on ‘User Settings’. 

A page will open with a list of platforms you can connect to your account. Find YouTube and click on Connect.

A log-in window will automatically appear asking you to connect to your Google account. 

Select the account where you have your YouTube channel associated and log in.

4.

Once the YouTube account is connected to your Vyrill account, return to the Home page by clicking on the Vyrill logo at the left top corner. You can go back to the home page by clicking here

5.

Back on your home page, click 'Add Video' in the top right corner.

6.

A pop-up will open and you will have to: 

A log-in window will automatically appear asking you to connect to your Google account. 

Paste the link you got from the ‘Share’ button on YouTube  

7.

Click ‘Add Video’

8.

The annotation pop-up will appear. This step will match your video with the product you created earlier. On this pop-up you have to:

Search and select the brand name on the Brand field

Search and select the product name on the Product field. Here you can annotate multiple products.

Click on ‘Save Annotation’ to add the video to your dashboard

OR

Upload video from Dropbox:

Via Dropbox: Dropbox platform allows you to upload videos that aren’t published on a public platform like Youtube.If you don’t have a Dropbox account, you can create one for free here

1.

Create an account as a Content Creator with Vyrill here 

2.

On your Dropbox account, copy the link to the Dropbox video you want to upload. 

3.

Come back to your Vyrill dashboard, and click the 'Add Video' on the right top corner

4.

A pop-up will open and you will have to: 

Select Dropbox as the ‘Type of URL’

Paste the link you got from Dropbox 

5.

You will be redirected to a Dropbox page where you have to grant Vyrill access to the document. This is a one-time step to connect your Dropbox account with Vyrill. 

6.

Once you grant access, you will automatically be back to the Vyrill dashboard. The annotation pop-up will appear. This step will match your video with the product you created earlier. On this pop-up you have to:

Search and select the brand name on the Brand field

Search and select the product name on the Product field. Here you can annotate multiple products

Click on ‘Save Annotation’ to add the video to your dashboard.

STEP THREE:

Get Videos Ready for Publishing

To publish videos on your store, the products on both platforms (Shopify and Vyrill) need to be matched by the UPC. This code needs to be SAME for each product and saved on both platforms. 

Check if you have the right UPC codes on your Shopify store:

Log in to your Shopify store’s Admin site

On the left navigation column, click on ‘Products’ 

Go to Inventory, a subcategory below the Product menu from the Navigation column on the left 

A list of all your products will appear. Click on the product you want to add or check the UPC code

When the product page opens, scroll down to the ‘Inventory’ section

The UPC code will be inside the field ‘Barcode (ISBN, UPC, GTIN, etc.) 

In case you don’t have the UPC code added in the Shopify Inventory, you can add on this same field, the same code you used while adding your product to the Vyrill dashboard

Click the green button ‘Save’ on the top right corner

Repeat this process with each product you want to work with.

Note: In case you need to modify a UPC code on the Vyrill dashboard, email support@vyrill.com and share the following information:

Account Email

2.

Brand Name

Product Name 

4.

New UPC code you want to add

How to Publish videos from the Vyrill Dashboard to your Store 

Publish videos from your Vyrill Dashboard to your Store

To display the videos to your Shopify store you will need to publish them to the Vyrill In-Video Search that you've installed.

Please follow the next steps:

Access your Vyrill Dashboard here 

Visit the Videos menu on the left column. There you will have a grid of all the videos that have been added to your Vyrill dashboard 

Explore the videos you want to display on your store’s product page. Remember you can save them by clicking on the heart icon.
Tip:
For a more advantageous search, use our  15+ filters on the right column!

Publish the selected videos. There are two ways to upload videos; individually or in bulk.

1.

 To upload individual videos:

On the Video menu where you will see that all the videos listed are organized by cards. Click on the top-right up-facing arrow in each video detail card.

A small popup will open. You will see a summary of the video information and, you will have to choose which tab you want to publish the video. These tabs are two different sections where the videos are displayed on the Vyrill In-Video Search and differentiate brand videos from the shopper ones: 

1.

Brand Video Tab: This tab is for your videos that are created by the brand, and are officially branded content.

2.

Shopper Video Tab: This tab is for your videos that are filmed by your customers.

2.

Once you have chosen the tab, click ‘Publish’. The video will be automatically published to the app.

3.

Repeat this process for all the videos you want to publish to the app.

You can also publish multiple videos to the same tab at once:

1.

On the same Video menu, above the grid of the video, you have multiple buttons that represent different actions. Click ‘Publish to App Manager’

2.

A pop-up with a list of all the videos will appear you can:

Click on ‘Select all videos’ on the right top corner and all the videos list will be selected

Click on each video that you are interested in from that list

3.

Click ‘Publish’ to save the selected videos

4.

A small popup will open. Choose which tab you want to publish the videos you selected earlier. These tabs are two different sections where the videos are displayed on the ‘In-video Search tab’ and differentiate brand videos from the shopper ones: 

Brand Video Tab: This tab is for your videos that are created by the brand, and are officially branded content.

Shopper Video Tab: This tab is for your videos that are filmed by your customers.

5.

Once you choose the tab, click ‘Publish’. The videos will be automatically published to the app.

Review the videos displayed on your Shopify Store:

Go to the ‘App Manager’ menu on the left column. You will have three tabs at the top of the page:

Use the Filters column on the right to navigate through all the videos. Here are a few examples:

How To Place/Customize the App & Publish/Unpublish Videos on your Shopify Store

STEP ONE: 

How to Place The App on your Shopify page

Once you have published videos to your Vyrill In-Video Search app it is time to place them on your store and display the videos.

Log in to your Shopify store admin site

On the left navigation column, go to Online Store

Find your current theme and click on the green button ‘Customize’. Remember the theme needs to be compatible with online Store 2.0

The theme edition page will open displaying your store. Inside your store, go to any product page.
Reminder: The Vyrill Vyrill In-Video Search App can only be placed on product pages.

Once you have the product page where you want to locate the app, use the left column to find the ‘Apps’ section. 

Click ‘Add block’

A small pop-up will open where all the apps are going to be listed. Scroll down and click on ‘Vyrill’

The app will appear on the product page with the videos you published from your Vyrill Dashboard.

You can move the different blocks using the 6 dots icon 

STEP TWO: 

How to Verify your videos have been published

Now that you have placed the Vyrill In-Video Search App on your store we recommend verifying that all the videos have been published to the app, and therefore displayed in your store. 

Go to the ‘App Manager’ menu on the left column. You will have three tabs at the top of the page:

1.

Brand - Where all brand videos are displayed 

2.

Shopper - Where all shopper videos are displayed

3.

All - Where all videos, from the brand and shoppers tabs, are displayed

How to Customize the App:

Vyrill’s Vyrill In-Video Search App can be personalized to blend with your store design and your needs. 

There are 4 things that can be modified: 

Customize the App title

Show QR code

Show creator profiles (above or below the videos)

Customize the color

To personalize your app follow these steps:

Log in to your Shopify store admin site

On the left navigation column, go to Online Store

Find your current theme and click on the green button ‘Customize’. Remember the theme needs to be compatible with online Store 2.0

The theme edition page will open displaying your store. Inside your store, go to any product page.
Reminder: The Vyrill In-Video Search App can only be placed on product pages.

Log in to your Shopify store admin site

Once you have the product page where you want to locate the app, use the left column to find the ‘Apps’ section. 

Click on ‘Vyrill’

A new menu will appear on the left column with the 4 personalization options 

1.

App Title: Edit the text on the box to change the title that is located at the top of the app 

Click on the text box

Type the title you want to add

Click the green ‘Save’ button on the top right corner

2.

Show QR: Vyrill In-Video Search App has the option to display a QR code at the beginning of the app, above the App title. This QR allows shoppers to share the product page by scanning the QR with their phone's camera

Flag or unflag the ‘Show QR code’ field 

Click the green ‘Save’ button on the top right corner

3.

Show videos first: At the bottom of the app you have the Video section where brand and shopper videos are displayed. This section is followed by ‘Video by’ where we display the shoppers who posted those videos. By unflagging the ‘Show videos first’ setting option, you change the order and display the ‘Videos by’ section above the ‘Videos’. 

Flag or unflag the ‘Show videos first’ field

Click the green ‘Save’ button on the top right corner

4.

Change App Color: Personalize the search bar, topics and icons of your app by changing the color that harmonizes with your store.

Click on the color circle 

Change the color of the apps by typing the color code, selecting the currently used options, or choosing a new color from the gradient bar. 

Click the green ‘Save’ button on the top right corner

Review the videos displayed on your Shopify Store

Unpublish Videos:

You can unpublish videos that you don’t want to have on your store anymore without deleting them from your Vyrill Dashboard.

To identify if a video is published or unpublished, check the small arrows located on the top-right corner of the video card. There are two options:

To Unpublish from the App 

To Publish to the App 

To unpublish videos from your Shopify Store:

Access your Vyrill Dashboard

Go to the ‘App Manager’ menu on the left column. 

Select the tab where the video you want to unpublish is located. Remember you will have three tabs at the top of the page :

1.

Brand - Where all brand videos are displayed 

2.

Shopper - Where all shopper videos are displayed

3.

All - Where all videos, from the brand and shoppers tabs, are displayed

When you find the video you want to unpublish, click on the down-facing arrow icon located in the top-right corner of the Video Detail Page.

A pop-up will open asking if you want to unpublish that video. Click the red button ‘Unpublish’ located at the right bottom corner.

The video will be unpublished and removed from your App. 

Repeat this process for each video you want to unpublish.
