This role is key to helping us scale. You will be responsible for growing our video commerce platform and core AI technology to millions of videos in multiple languages. You’ll build and develop tools to help our customers grow revenue with video.

What you’ll be working on: 

Management:

● Lead our engineering team and oversee its day-to-day operations. 

● Scale the engineering organization by hiring and retaining exceptional talent. 

● Strive for efficiency as the team grows quickly 

● Focus on results while thinking strategically and balancing both short and long-term strategies.

● Collaborate with Sales, Marketing and Customer Success teams to incorporate and prioritize customer feedback and improvements. 

● Ability to hire leaders and engineers and build strong inclusive teams. 

Technical: 

● Design organizations, systems, and tools to help us scale effectively. 

● Architect a robust engineering system to sustain the heavy load of AI processes and to build a robust and efficient product.

● Developing API and Widget infrastructure to enable new services for partners and customers.  

● Develop infrastructure to capture and understand video from multiple platforms.

● Focus on driving efficiency as the team is quickly expanding. 

Relationship Management: 

● Work closely with Product, Design, and AI leadership on strategic planning, product development, and execution. 

● Work closely with teams in different countries, continents, and time zones. 

Relevant experience and requirements: 

● Proven track record of 10+ years of experience. 

● 4+ years of leadership experience at a startup, even better if during the rapid team and business growth phase. 

● 5 years of experience with software development in one or more programming languages/libraries (e.g., Python, JavaScript, Ruby.) 

● Expertise of combined experience in backend software or infrastructure architecture.

● Experience with cloud computing platforms like AWS.  

● Comfortable leading middle to large teams (15+ engineers), including a blend of US based and off-shore or near-shore team members. 

● Demonstrated excellence in scaling an engineering team with organizational design. (Recognizing architectural and software problems while steering engineers away from implementing them at scale.) 

● Strong background in applied machine learning, theory, and practice. 

● Computer Science (or similar) background.

Nice to have: 

● Direct experience working on a two-sided platform or marketplace. 

● Understanding of AI and ML infrastructure.  

● Previous experience building widgets and integrating APIs with e-commerce or social media platforms. 

● Experience with developing e-commerce or search products and services.
